My name is Chad Hollar. I was recently a contestant on the History Channel show "Forged In Fire". Our challenge was to make a large Bowie style knife with a D guard handle. All made from 5160 high carbon steel. The handle is curly maple with a brass bolster toward the front.
All knives and swords made on the show belong to the History Channel, but I made this one using the same steel and techniques that I used on the show. It's not just a great looking, collectible knife, it's a quality made knife that you can use for any outdoor activities. It also comes with a brown, hand riveted, bison hide sheath.
